NATURE OF WORK
You will provide advisory and consultative services to intermediate units and school administrators in the local planning and evaluation of special education intervention services and programs. You will analyze, evaluate and recommend for approval/disapproval special education plans, proposals, amendments and updates submitted by local educational agencies, intermediate units, etc., to ensure compliance with federal/state requirements and guidelines; and conduct comprehensive program reviews to ensure exceptional students receive quality education. You will also provide technical assistance to and negotiate with program directors and administrators in the development and implementation of corrective action plans; develop and conduct in-service workshops; and plan and develop programs/services to meet the needs of exceptional students.

You must be willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.
You must be of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job. Pennsylvania residency is currently waived for this job title.
Minimum Requirements
Four years of professional experience in special education including one year in the development and implementation of special education curricula or programs at the local or intermediate unit level; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Clarification of Requirements
You may substitute related graduate education for the required experience. Unrelated education will not be accepted.
