NATURE OF WORK

 

You will supervise and direct Health Facility Quality Examiners who inspect and survey healthcare facilities/providers to determine if they meet licensure and/or certification standards and legal requirements such as the Federal Medicare/Medicaid Regulations and Pennsylvania State Health Department rules and regulations for healthcare facilities and providers.

 

You will serve as needed as a team member or leader in inspections/surveys.  The survey process mandates some irregular work hours to conduct early morning observations of clients (such as wake-up, toileting, placement on dialysis and so forth); late afternoon, evening or night observations (such as dinner, bathing, and so forth); and may include work on weekends.

You must be willing to travel.  Travel expenses will be paid.

 

You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.

 

Minimum Requirements

Two years of healthcare facility survey experience and a bachelor’s degree; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.

 

Clarification of Requirements

You may substitute related education for the required experience or appropriate experience for the required education.  Unrelated experience or education will not be accepted.

Health Facility Quality Examiner Supervisor positions are located in the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH).  There are currently 17 filled positions.  DOH anticipates filling 1 position per year.

TESTING

 

You will be rated on your experience and training.  Your score will be based on information you report on your application and application supplement.

 

You must provide complete and accurate information.  Failure to do so may delay the processing of your application, or result in a lower-than-deserved score or disqualification.

 

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your “Application for Employment/Promotion”.  A new application and application supplement are required for a retest.

 

If your name is on an eligible list for this job title and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.

 

TEST RESULTS

 

Employment and promotion lists will be established.  You will be notified in writing of your test results.

 

This test is different from previous tests for this job title.  If you have taken the test before, you may receive a different score on this test.
