NATURE OF WORK
Regulatory Enforcement Inspector - You will conduct field inspections of regulated businesses to determine compliance with laws and regulations governing professional and occupational licenses. You will check licenses of barbers, cosmetologists, real estate agents/brokers, motor vehicle salespersons and other licensees to ensure that they are current and accurate; inspect establishments of licensees to ensure that required equipment and materials are present, adequate, and properly located; and inspect business records to ensure they are properly maintained.
Regulatory Enforcement Inspector Supervisor - You will supervise, assign, and direct the conduct of field inspectors of regulated businesses. You will also establish priorities and provide guidance to staff regarding field inspections and the application of laws, rules, and regulations governing various professions, occupations, commissioners and registrants under the authority of the Secretary of the Commonwealth.

You must be willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.
You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.
Minimum Requirements
Regulatory Enforcement Inspector - Three years of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; OR an associate’s degree and one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.
Regulatory Enforcement Inspector Supervisor - Two years as a Regulatory Enforcement Inspector, Mortuary Inspector, Drug Program Specialist 1, or Professional Conduct Investigator 1; OR five years of experience conducting inspections for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; OR three years of experience conducting inspections for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts and an associate's degree; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training which included three years of experience involving inspection for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.

Regulatory Enforcement Inspectors and Supervisors are employed by the Pennsylvania Department of State. Positions are located in Pittsburgh (Allegheny County), Harrisburg (Dauphin County), Scranton (Lackawanna County), and King of Prussia (Montgomery County).

The test will be administered on a computer. Information about computerized testing is available online at www.scsc.state.pa.us OR in paper form at any State Civil Service Commission office. You will have a maximum of 2 1/2 hours to complete the test.
Lists created by these tests will be used to fill future vacancies as they occur due to retirements, promotions, transfers, resignations and so forth.

The test will be administered in the Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh State Civil Service Commission offices, Monday through Friday.
The test will also be held approximately 10 days a month at additional test centers located in Allentown, Erie, Johnstown, Lock Haven, and Scranton. If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your test. You must submit a new application to be retested.
If your name is on an eligible list for these job titles and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.
TEST RESULTS
Employment and promotion lists will be established. You will be notified in writing of your test results.
