NATURE OF WORK

 

As a Civil Engineer Consultant (Hydraulic), you will perform analytical, developmental, evaluative, and consultative work in support of storm water management activities, water resource management, water obstructions and encroachments, and flood protection projects.  You will provide advice to administrative and managerial officials, consultants and local government officials as a technical professional expert in the field of hydraulic engineering.

 

As a Civil Engineer Manager (Hydraulic), you will serve as a section chief, managing the activities of an engineering section involved in the design, review, construction, or research of hydraulic engineering and water resource management projects.  You will manage a staff of engineers and project inspectors, ensuring environmental projects are built according to plans and specifications.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.

 

Condition of Employment

Certain positions in both job titles require possession of a valid driver’s license.

 

Necessary Special Requirement

All positions in both job titles require possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

 

Minimum Requirements

1116H – Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the hydraulic specialty.

 

1115J – Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the hydraulic specialty and one year of experience directing the work of civil engineers.

TESTING

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your application.  A new application and application supplement are required for a retest.
