Job Locations

·         PA Department of Human Services facilities for adjudicated delinquent youth in the following counties: Carbon (Youth Forestry Camp #2), Franklin (South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit), Huntingdon (Youth Forestry Camp #3), Montour (North Central Secure Treatment Unit), and Perry (Loysville Youth Development Center)

Type of Work

·         Full-time employment for all positions

·         Employment and promotion preference may be given to residents and employees of counties where jobs located

·         Youth Development Aide Trainees hired as operationally necessary

·         Youth Development Aide Trainee must participate in a 6-month training program including formal classroom sessions and on-the-job training for promotion to Youth Development Aide with a salary increase

Job Duties

·         Youth Development Aide Trainees learn to provide for the care, custody, and training of court adjudicated youth requiring specialized services

·         Youth Development Aides provide physical care, custody and supervision of youths on a day-to-day basis to address personal problems; attend scheduled activities; assist professional staff to implement treatment plans and report youths’ progress

·         Youth Development Aide Supervisors assign, direct, supervise the work of subordinate aides

·         Must meet PA residency requirement

·         PA residency currently waived for Youth Development Aide position, only
