NATURE OF WORK
This is professional work in Fayette County's behavioral health-managed care organization assessing and substantiating the need for mental health and substance abuse services within the guidelines and standards of the HealthChoices Behavioral Health Managed Care Program. You will gather demographic and clinical information to make appropriate referrals to consumers in need of services provided by a mental health or drug and alcohol addictions professional. You will provide information regarding benefits, treatment options, the managed care system and community resources. You will maintain client records, review and evaluate the medical appropriateness of treatment and, in consultation with a supervisor, make a decision regarding the appropriateness of this treatment. You will also advocate for consumers and families; facilitate coordination of care; complete referral and case documentation; conduct follow-ups; prepare reports; and participate in clinical rounds, seminars and training sessions to maintain your licensure and clinical credentials.

Some of the positions in this job title come under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. If you are a final candidate for one of these positions, you will have to provide reports on your background from such sources as the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Minimum Requirements
A master’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, activity therapies, special education, or other closely related clinical discipline; and two years of professional mental health clinical experience in psychology, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, activity therapies, special education, or other closely related clinical discipline.
