NATURE OF WORK
You will develop, interpret, and recommend changes to rules, regulations, and policies for Statewide environmental regulatory programs governing coal and industrial minerals mining, or oil and gas production. You will monitor and evaluate mineral resources programs to ensure uniformity in goals and objectives. You will advise and consult with federal and interstate agencies, consultants, public officials, and the public concerning program requirements and methods of operation. You will also conduct special studies on technical issues, and conduct training for field personnel and the regulated community on mineral resources management programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
For some jobs, offers of employment will be made only if you are willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.
You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.
Necessary Special Requirements
Certain positions in this class may require possession of a valid driver's license. Certain positions in this class may require possession of a Class A “General” blaster’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Minimum Requirements
A bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering field related to environmental protection, and 3 years of professional experience in an environmental regulatory program for the extractive mineral industries; OR 2 years of experience as a Surface Mine Conservation Inspector, Mining Specialist, Blasting and Explosives Inspector, or Oil and Gas Inspector; OR 1 year of experience as a Mining Permit and Compliance Specialist or an Environmental Protection Compliance Specialist; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.

TESTING
You will be rated on your experience and training. Your score will be based on information you report on your application and application supplement.
You must provide complete and accurate information. Failure to do so may delay the processing of your application, or result in a lower-than-deserved score or disqualification.
If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your test. You must submit a new application to be retested.
TEST RESULTS
