NATURE OF WORK

You will work as an instructor at the Commonwealth Technical Institute at the Hiram G. Andrews Center in Johnstown, Cambria County.  You will teach the specialized knowledges and skills needed for employment to secondary students who have physical, mental or emotional disabilities.  You will also advise students who are working to complete their Individualized Plans for Employment.

Two years of journey level experience in the specific business education occupational area to be taught, and 1 year of conducting training or instructing (18 college level credits in vocational education teaching courses may be substituted for the 1 year of training or instructing); OR a bachelor’s degree in vocational education or business education in the specialty area to be taught.

Two years of experience as a registered nurse in caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age, and 1 year of conducting training or instructing (18 college level credits in vocational education teaching courses may be substituted for the 1 year of training or instructing).

Necessary Special Requirement

Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the PA Board of Nursing or possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse obtained in another jurisdiction under requirements which are acceptable to the State Board of Nursing.

4536A

Six college level credits in teaching methods, or 1 year of conducting training or instructing, and successfully passing the qualifying examination for instructorship in a private driver education or training school.

Necessary Special Requirement

Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

4536B, 4536C, 4536D, 4536E

A bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Special Education; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training in the subject area to be taught, including training or experience in training or instructing.
