NATURE OF WORK

 

Civil Engineer Managers (General) perform professional civil engineering duties in a managerial capacity and Civil Engineer Consultants (General) perform professional civil engineer duties in a consultative capacity.  Some engineers specialize in soils engineering, or mine reclamation; however, many generalists work on a variety of civil engineering projects such as bridges, buildings, roads, dams, marinas, storage tanks, trails, sewage and water treatment systems, pools, campgrounds, etc.  The jobs involve hydraulic, soils, structural, transportation, bridge and/or mining engineering.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

For some jobs, offers of employment will be made only if you are willing to travel.  Travel expenses will be paid.

 

You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.

 

Condition of Employment

Certain positions in these classes will require possession of a valid driver’s license.

 

Necessary Special Requirement

Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

 

Minimum Requirements

Civil Engineer Manager (General) - Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes one year of experience in directing the work of civil engineers.

 

Civil Engineer Consultant (General) 1116G and G0117 - Four years of professional civil engineering experience.
