NATURE OF WORK
You will work in life forecasting of utility plants and equipment, and analyzing and reviewing valuation engineering and rate structure data submitted by fixed utilities to justify utility service rates.
You will review public utility laws, rules, regulations, economics, industry fundamentals and systems of accounts, valuation engineering, trending indices and methods of depreciation. Work assignments involve assisting a higher-level valuation engineer in researching, analyzing, and reviewing valuation engineering and rate structure data. You will also participate in on-site inspections of utility properties, case preparation of interrogatories and staff exhibits for presentation by supervisors.

You must be willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.
You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.
Minimum Requirements
One year as a Fixed Utility Valuation Engineer Trainee OR one year technical engineering or valuation engineering experience involving the operation of a public or private generation, collection and distribution system, or related experience with a public utility, public utility regulatory agency, or as a consulting engineer in related work; and a bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology specifically related to construction and design of generation, collection and distribution systems; OR an equivalent combination of experience or training. A master's degree in engineering will be acceptable in lieu of the one year of technological experience.
Clarification of Requirements
You may substitute related education for the required experience or appropriate experience for the required education. Unrelated experience or education will not be accepted.

TEST RESULTS
Employment and promotion lists will be established. You will be notified in writing of your test results.
