NATURE OF WORK
You will plan, organize and implement district or statewide epidemiologic investigations to control communicable and non-communicable diseases; analyze data to determine the origin and cause of diseases and to detect clusters of cases and outbreaks of diseases; institute and evaluate disease control measures; review case reports for accuracy and completeness; monitor disease surveillance systems to ensure cases are investigated timely; interpret rules, regulations, policies and standards for field personnel; provide technical advice to field personnel on data collection methods and case-finding; and prepare disease-related information for dissemination to the public, professional groups, and community organizations.

You must be willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.
You must be of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job. Pennsylvania residency is currently waived for this job title.
Minimum Requirements
Three years of experience in epidemiologic investigations, and a bachelor’s degree in public health or a closely related field; OR 1 year of field experience in epidemiology, and a master’s degree in public health or a closely related field with an emphasis in epidemiology including or supplemented by at least 3 courses in epidemiology; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Clarification of Requirements
You may substitute related education for the required experience or appropriate experience for the required education. Unrelated experience or education will not be accepted.
