NATURE OF WORK
You will perform macroscopic, microscopic, serological, molecular and biological tests and examinations of diseased plants to detect and identify fungi, bacteria, nematodes, viruses or virus-like organisms. You will plan, design and implement field or greenhouse surveys to detect plant diseases, and perform research to support plant disease diagnostic and survey work. You will also prepare technical reports, scientific articles and other written materials, and provide direction and technical assistance to field inspectors, growers, laboratory assistants/technicians and others in the field of plant industry.

You must be of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job. Pennsylvania residency is currently waived for this job title.
Minimum Requirements
Master of science in Plant Pathology; OR master of science in a related field which includes 15 college credits in Plant Science; OR bachelor of science in Plant Science, or a related field with 15 college credits in Plant Sciences; and one year of professional experience in Plant Pathology.

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your application. A new application and application supplement are required for a retest.
