NATURE OF WORK
Facility Reimbursement Officers assign, receive, and evaluate work performed by Facility Reimbursement Technicians. They maintain accounts receivable ledgers and provide testimony relative to liability assessments, delinquent accounts, and write-off requests at court proceedings.
Facility Guardian Officers counsel individuals in state hospitals or state centers concerning money management, and develop plans for administering funds. Work involves acting as an advocate for these individuals in financial matters and benefit programs. Work also includes supervising a small staff who record, review, process, and control fiscal records pertaining to the personal funds and benefit accounts of these individuals.
Facility Reimbursement Technicians investigate and determine assets of individuals in state hospitals or state centers. This includes identifying additional sources of income and financial liability for the care of these individuals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
You will be tested before your qualifications are reviewed. Your test results will count only if you meet all job requirements.
For some jobs, offers of employment will be made only if you are willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.

Minimum Requirements
Facility Reimbursement Officer 1 - One year of experience as a Facility Reimbursement Technician; OR 2 years of experience involving public contact work in office management which included billing and collection of accounts or debts in a healthcare facility; and completion of 2 years of college level work with major coursework in business administration, finance, accounting, or healthcare management; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Facility Reimbursement Officer 2 - One year as a Facility Reimbursement Officer 1; OR 2 years as a Facility Reimbursement Technician; OR 3 years of experience involving public contact work in office management which included the billing and collection of accounts or debts in a healthcare facility; and completion of two years of college level work with major coursework in business administration, finance, accounting, or healthcare management; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Facility Guardian Officer - Four years of bookkeeping experience and 1 year of experience in financial planning or management of individual accounts; OR 2 years of bookkeeping experience and 1 year of experience in financial planning or management of individual accounts, and an associate’s degree in business administration or accounting; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 1 year of financial planning or management of individual accounts.
Facility Reimbursement Technician - Three years of experience involving responsible public contact work, including 1 year of work in the collection of accounts or debts; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.

TESTING
The test will be administered on a computer. Information about computerized testing is available online at www.scsc.state.pa.us OR in paper form at any State Civil Service Commission office.

The test will be administered in the Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh State Civil Service Commission offices, Monday through Friday.
The test also will be held approximately 10 days a month at additional test centers located in Allentown, Erie, Johnstown, Lock Haven, and Scranton. If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your test. You must submit a new application to be retested.
If your name is on an eligible list for these job titles and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.
TEST RESULTS
Employment and promotion lists will be established. You will be notified in writing of your test results.
