NATURE OF WORK

 

Summer Meals Regional Assistants ensure that meal sponsors are in compliance with state and federal summer food program laws, regulations, and policies; function as lead workers for, and provide training and guidance to, Summer Food Service Program Field Monitors; examine site review forms to ensure adherence to processing standards; conduct preapproval and program compliance site visits; and grant approval for emergency site changes.

 

Summer Meals Regional Coordinators coordinate the supervision of summer meals programs for children in a designated geographic area; ensure site reviews are completed annually; interpret regulations and apply them to daily operations; determine program compliance with federal regulations; assist sponsors with problem resolution and creating corrective action plans; and supervise field monitors and regional assistants.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

You must be willing to travel.  Travel expenses will be paid.

Minimum Requirements

 

Summer Meals Regional Assistant

Three months of experience monitoring a state or federal child food service program; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.

 

Summer Meals Regional Coordinator

One season of experience as a Summer Meals Regional Assistant; OR 6 months of experience monitoring a state or federal child food service program; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
