EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 

There is currently one full-time vacant position.  The list resulting from this examination will be used to fill this vacancy and to meet future needs as they occur.

 

 NATURE OF WORK

 

As a County Drug and Alcohol Administrator 1 you will be responsible for a variety of managerial functions within the Planning Council Model.  These functions will include:  fiscal management responsibilities that involve implementing a fiscal plan developed by an administrative superior where you will be responsible for monitoring the use of funds for the administration and provision of services; organization planning responsibilities that involve data gathering, consensus building, prioritizing needs and services and analyzing information towards the enhancement of service delivery; program administration responsibilities that involve planning, organizing and coordinating a comprehensive drug and alcohol service delivery system in an SCA; general administration responsibilities that involve the management and performance of the general operation of the SCA; and inter-departmental responsibilities that involves meeting with various human service agencies to provide information and input.  You will provide public relations and liaison duties that involve implementing a public relations/liaison plan developed by the supervisor.  You will also be responsible for data management duties that involve collecting or ensuring that data is collected and disseminating the data to the appropriate location and personnel administration duties that involve approving leave, completing performance evaluations and recommending disciplinary action.  Also, as a County Drug and Alcohol Administrator 1 you will be required to comply with the Department of Health contract and monitor the providers for compliance with the SCA contract.

Minimum Requirements

 

County Drug and Alcohol Administrator 1

A Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and two (2) years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including two (2) years supervising human service professionals; OR a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and four (4) years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including two (2) years supervising human service professionals; OR an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and six (6) years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including two (2) years supervising human service professionals.

 

Clarification of Requirements

You may substitute related education for the required experience or appropriate experience for the required education.  Unrelated experience or education will not be accepted.
