Gerald J. Pappert, Chair


Jerry Pappert was confirmed by the Senate to the Banking and Securities Commission in October 2012 and subsequently appointed chair of the commission by Governor Tom Corbett.
He is a shareholder in Cozen O’Connor, working in the law firm’s commercial litigation practice group.
Pappert served in the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General for eight years, from 1997-2003 as the First Deputy and from 2003-2005 as the Attorney General. He has more than 25 years of legal experience, which also includes being a lawyer in private practice in two other large Philadelphia law firms.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, he served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Cephalon, Inc., an international biopharmaceutical company based in Pennsylvania.
Pappert earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Villanova University and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
