Executive Deputy Secretary
Victoria A. Reider was appointed Executive Deputy Secretary of Banking in August 2007. In this capacity, she oversees financial examination, compliance and regulatory activities and serves as the agency’s chief operating officer. Reider previously served as the Acting Secretary of Banking and Chairman of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency Board for over a year.
Reider joined the department in January of 2004 as Chief Counsel. Prior to her appointment, she served as senior vice president and general counsel for a national property and casualty insurer, and as an independent legal consultant advising on governance, regulatory, and business law.
Reider has also served as Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel for the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, worked as an executive policy specialist in the Governor’s Office of Policy Development, where she became the Governor’s staff liaison to the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and as a hearing examiner for the Department of Revenue. Prior to law school, she began her professional career working for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
Reider is a cum laude graduate of Mercyhurst College and received her J.D. degree from the Dickinson School of Law where she served on the Trial and Appellate Moot Court Boards. She is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the American Corporate Counsel Association. She is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Reider is on the Board of Trustees for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors Educational Foundation and serves on the CSBS Regulatory and Legislative Committees. She is married and has two daughters.
