Rebecca Kennedy is the Project Specialist for the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) in the 11 counties in Northeastern PA PENNVEST Region IV: Lackawanna, Luzerne, Schuylkill, Lehigh, Northampton, Pike, Monroe, Wyoming, Wayne, Carbon and Susquehanna. Rebecca has been with PENNVEST since 2013. Prior to PENNVEST, Rebecca served as Director of Water Programs for the Pennsylvania Environmental Council after a decade as the Watershed Specialist for the Lehigh County Conservation District. Rebecca has also worked for the USDA Forest Service as a Forest Hydrologist, and in field geology research.
Rebecca holds a B.A in Geology from Barnard College, Columbia University, and a Master’s of Water Resources from the University of New Mexico.
Rebecca acts as President of the Watershed Coalition of the Lehigh Valley, an umbrella watershed group which serves the two-county Lehigh and Northampton County region. She was instrumental in the start-up of the state’s first Master Watershed Stewardship program with Penn State Cooperative Extension, and works extensively on non-point source and green infrastructure throughout the region. In her free time, Rebecca is an avid outdoor recreationist, spending her time kayaking and wandering Buck’s County’s back roads on long bike rides. She resides in Perkasie, PA
