Victims Services Public Awareness Campaign

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) is pleased to announce a new campaign designed to help victim service providers statewide in creating greater awareness of services to victims of crime in their community. As one of the primary state agencies that distribute funding for services for victims of crime, we need to improve public awareness of victims’ services and the Victims Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP).

Please feel free to download these public service announcements and/or post them on your agency's Web site.  You can do so by right clicking on the links and then selecting "save target as".

A list has also been provided with specific contact persons for the TV stations in your area who will receive this video PSA. Statistics show that stations are more likely to air these PSAs if they receive direct contact from the agencies in their viewing area about how important and vital their services are to the community. There is also a list of helpful talking points when meeting with or directly contacting TV station personnel.

We hope this PSA tool is helpful to you and your staff in promoting and educating your community about the invaluable services you provide each day to victims of crime and their families.

As part of the Public Awareness Campaign, the Office of Victims' Services has also been able to purchase billboards, gas pump toppers, and bus ads.  Below you can find a sample of the billboard, gas pump topper and bus ad as well as locations where they can be found around the state.

If there is not a billboard placed in your county, but you have a contact that would underwrite the cost, please contact Ms. Tara Mead, Press Secretary at the PA Commission on Crime & Delinquency at (717) 265-8470 or tmead@pa.gov.
