The accompanying document provides detailed instructions for initial log in and for establishing additional users and passwords. The first time you log in, you will be prompted to change the password; the new password must have a minimum of 8 characters.

The Department is working with Cogent Systems to improve the process for obtaining federal criminal history background checks.
A new process, that enables school administrators to view their prospective employees' and contractors' employees' federal Criminal History Information Records (CHRIs) online, was in place December 1, 2008. The accompanying documentation, provided by Cogent Systems, includes a brief overview of the changes and screen shots to familiarize Administrators with the new system.
As of December 1, 2008, Cogent Systems began a help desk to assist Administrators in using the new system. Individuals who are seeking additional information regarding the process may contact Cogent Systems at their website.
