Pennsylvania OVR needs to hire a VR Counselor for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (VRCDHH) to serve eligible persons who are deaf and hard of hearing. Available position is located in OVR’s Dubois District Office.
Requirements: A master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, rehabilitation education or rehabilitation administration, or CRC credentials, or proof of approval to sit for CRC exam as provided by CRCC. You may apply and be placed on the eligible list if you are in the final semester of your master’s rehabilitation counseling degree program.
Appointment: 1 full-time position in the Dubois District Office
Salary and benefits: $47,961/year (Pay Scale Group 7, Pay Scale Level 5) with full benefits that include health, dental, vision and prescription drug plans. There is also a generous amount of paid leave to include sick leave, vacation leave, personal leave and holidays.
Application: VRCDHH is a civil service position. Pennsylvania residency is not required to apply. To become an eligible candidate, you must complete a state civil service application and include a copy of verifying documents. There is no written test and review of experience and training is the means to assess applicant qualifications and placement on the Civil Service eligible list for VRCDHH. As vacancies occur, Civil Service lists are used to contact potential candidates for availability and interview. You cannot apply on-line. Candidates must download and complete a
hard copy of the civil service application.
Necessary Special Requirement for VRC Deaf & Hard of Hearing: Ability to communicate at the intermediate sign communication level as determined by the Sign communication Proficiency Interview evaluation as approved by OVR.
