This page highlights all key dates, events, meetings and deadlines regarding Chapter 49 from June 2008 through December 2013. 
 
 
Key Deadlines:
 
December 31, 2008 - Last day for institutions to apply for an extension to launch the new certificate programs (PreK-4, 4-8, Special Education PreK-8 and Special Education 7-12).
 
January 1, 2010 - Last day for all new certificate programs (PreK-4, 4-8, Special Education PreK-8 and Special Education 7-12) that DID receive an extension to apply for initial program approval. 
 
January 1, 2011 - ALL programs must incorporate the 270 hours/9 credits of Adaptations and Accommodations and 90 hours/3 credits of ELL in their programs.
 
January 1, 2013 - Graduates of programs that DID NOT receive an extension must meet the new certificate guidelines.
 
August 31, 2013 - Graduates of programs that DID receive an extension must meet the new certificate guidelines.
