Charter School Funding in Pennsylvania
Funding for charter schools is addressed in Section 1725-A (PDF) of the Pennsylvania Public School Code.
Pursuant to section 1725-A(a)(5), a charter school may ask the Secretary of Education to redirect a school district's subsidy when the school district refuses to pay the charter school for educating resident students. The request must be in writing and include a copy of the invoices prepared in the format required by the Department of Education (Department).
The following files contain selected expenditure per average daily membership amounts that a charter school should use when billing a school district. These amounts are calculated on form PDE-363 "Funding for Charter Schools, Calculation of Selected Expenditures Per Average Daily Membership" that a school district must complete each year for the Department and at a charter school's request.
