Key Programmatic Functions

  • Confer with managers, supervisors and office staff on recruitment options and vacancy posting procedures for Civil Service and non-Civil Service covered positions
  • Conduct recruitment within Civil Service Rules, collective bargaining unit agreements/memoranda and Bureau of State Employment procedures
  • Provide technical assistance to agencies regarding the interview process to ensure hiring the best candidates, in addition to ensuring that applicants meet all requirements of the new class
  • Coordinate all new hires including transfer actions with other agencies
  • Post positions on SCSC JobNet, and/or advertise in newspapers or journals
  • Process work orders for Temporary Clerical Pool assignments
  • Develop and conduct training on Interview and Selection policies, procedures and methods
  • Attend job fairs to attract candidates for "hard to recruit for" positions.
