The Municipalities Planning Code was revised in 2000 and included a provision for historic preservation planning. The Bureau for Historic Preservation (BHP) has developed Guidance for Historic Preservation Planning (PDF, 36 KB) to provide a framework for what constitutes a comprehensive historic preservation plan.
