The Pennsylvania Department of Aging works with two advisory councils that act as advocates for change on issues affecting older Pennsylvanians.
The
Intra-Governmental Council on Long-Term Care examines long-term care issues in the commonwealth, including the responsibilities and programs of the various agencies of state government. The council also works to assure efficient access to consumer services and funding.

Pennsylvania Council on Aging (PCoA) acts as an advisor to the governor and the Department of Aging on the planning, coordination and delivery of services to older people. The council also serves as an advocate for the elderly in the commonwealth.
