How would a private non-profit agency be able to apply for a re-entry grant?
Only counties are eligible applicants under the Criminal Justice Improvement Programs funding announcement. A county may contract with a private non-profit entity to implement a program in this category.
If a private non-profit receives ARRA funds as a pass-through from the county, will the non-profit be responsible for submitting the reports directly to PCCD or will the county be responsible for reporting?
The applicant agency is responsible for the reporting.
Can the same application be submitted under two separate categories (i.e: Mental Health Initiatives and Re-entry)?
No. A county may apply under multiple categories but each application must be a different initiative
Will Project Modification Requests (PMR) be allowed to extend beyond the 18 or 24 month period?
One of the goals of the President’s Stimulus Package is to stimulate the economy. To accomplish this goal, it is preferred that funds be expended within 2 years. PCCD will not encourage extensions beyond the 24 month project period, but PMRs may be considered for extenuating circumstances.
Would expansion/enhancements of current county systems be allowed under the ARRA Technology Funding Announcement?
Yes. Program activities may include the use of or modification of existing technologies in innovative ways.
