On May 22, 2013, SCI Forest staff hosted local legislators and their staff for a tour of the prison. Part of the tour included a presentation and demonstration from the DOC's Drug Interdiction Unit and handlers. The handlers demonstrated the types of searches used -- area search for drugs, search of a person for contraband.

Employees of SCI Camp Hill recently placed flags on the graves of individuals buried at the Peace Church in Mechanicsburg in preparation for Memorial Day. The Peace Church was erected in 1798. Employees were proud to take time out of their daily lives to honor some of America's heroes. The employees said, "We give a few hours of our lives for those who gave all of theirs."

We receive many e-mails from family members of inmates who are new receptions to the system and are worried about receiving phone calls from their loved ones.  Due to the busy schedule involving inmate orientation, and multiple assessments/evaluations performed upon initial reception, it can be several weeks until an inmate can set up his telephone list and get it approved in order to make phone calls.
