Modified Ambulance Equipment List

Use requires PA Department of Health approval

In the case of a bioterrorism event, the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system may be called upon to transport emergency patients who are also victims of unusual and contagious diseases.  Although patients with contagious diseases without emergency conditions may be isolated or quarantined at home, patients needing treatment of additional illness such as pulmonary distress, diabetic, seizures and cardiac events may still need EMS response and transport to an acute care facility.  This list will allow for an exception to the required equipment list upon authorization of the PA Department of Health.
