EPHTN Guiding Principles
- Utilize the standards and architectural components jointly developed within the work groups making sure they adhere to current federal and state IT standards, be aware of emerging standards, nothing lasts forever.
- Ensure that the highest levels of security and interoperability are achieved, don’t compromise either to save time or money.
- Consider the needs and capabilities of a diverse stakeholder base; provide each with the right tools, training, and adequate IT support or the network will not be used.
- Continually ask the question, is the data already being collected by someone? If it is, how can I add value to it by cleansing it, mining it, integrating or linking it with other data, or enriching it to improve the quality or utility?
