Vision Mission and Goals

The Pennsylvania Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) team has a VISION of healthy informed communities across the nation through public access to health and environmental data.

Our MISSION is to provide information from the state and nationwide web network of integrated health and environmental data, to drive actions that create health informed communities. 

Our GOALS for the Pennsylvania Environmental Health Tracking Program are:

• To build a sustainable statewide network, using federal, state, and local resources to develop and evaluate effective public health activities in order to identify potential areas of health risk, and flag locations where additional environmental monitoring may be of benefit to a community.

• To enhance the EPHT infrastructure in order to ensure that essential services are provided for existing and emerging environmental public health issues. 

• To disseminate information to enhance risk communications, guide policy, practice, and other actions to improve the Commonwealth’s and the Nation’s health. 

• To advance environmental public health science and research through partnerships with government and private agencies. 

• To foster collaboration between health and environmental programs, strengthening their partnership in Environmental Health, in an effort to increase interaction and collaboration.
