Everyday over one million children and students receive nutritious meals through the federal Child Nutrition Programs, which includes the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Summer Food Service Program.
Adequate and proper nutrition is an essential component to the learning evvironment and positively contributes to the health of each student. The Pennsylvania Department of Education is committed to ensuring that all children and students have access to healthy meals through the federal Child Nutrition Programs because healthy students are better prepared to learn!
