Food and Nutrition Programs


  

Welcome to the Pennsylvania Department of Education Bureau of Budget and Fiscal Management, Division of Food and Nutrition Child Nutrition Programs

Everyday over one million children and students receive nutritious meals through the federal School  Nutrition Programs, which includes the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Summer Food Service Program. 

Adequate and proper nutrition is an essential component to the learning evvironment and positively contributes to the health of each student.  The Pennsylvania Department of Education is committed to ensuring that all children and students have access to healthy meals through the federal Child Nutrition Programs because healthy students are better prepared to learn!

If you wish to file a Civil Rights program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, found online at  http://www.ascr.usdagov/complaint_filing_cust.htrml, or at any USDA office, or call (866) 632-9992 to request the form. You may also write a letter containing all of the information requested in the form.
