Geothermal Power is power taken from heat found to be naturally occurring below ground. The most common form of geothermal energy in Pennsylvania comes from shallow well heat pumps, which capitalize on the constant temperature within the earth's upper crust. Other systems utilize extensive heat sources located miles into the earth and take advantage of natural openings to the surface.
