The Insurance Department commissioned two surveys on the status of the uninsured in Pennsylvania. The commonwealth’s latest statewide survey on uninsured rates, conducted in 2008, shows that more than one million Pennsylvanians lack health insurance coverage – an increase from a similar study in 2004.
