Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in Pennsylvania. Stroke is the third leading cause of death and the third leading cause of disability in this state. The Heart Disease and Stroke Program (HDSP) seeks to reduce premature death and disability from heart disease and stroke by addressing risk factors and supporting efforts to improve treatment of these diseases.
