Steve Hoffman was appointed as the Assistant Director of Homeland Security on September 29, 2007. As the Assistant Director, he focuses primarily on implementing the Commonwealth Critical Infrastructure Protection Program - a supporting plan to the Department of Homeland Security's National Infrastructure Protection Plan. Serving as the critical infrastructure protection conduit to the federal Department of Homeland Security, Hoffman is the Director's primary advisor regarding threats from terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies - an all-hazards analysis of anything potentially incapacitating the Commonwealth's critical infrastructure, key resources and significant special events.
Prior to his appointment, Hoffman spent three years with Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency as the State Exercise Officer, two years as the national level exercise coordinator for the National Guard Bureau in Washington D.C., and four years as the Security Manager for Arnold Logistics in Camp Hill, PA. He is a Vietnam veteran and retired from the U.S. Army after 29 years of Active Duty service. In his last military assignment, Hoffman served as a Special Forces Sergeant Major. Although no longer an active firefighter, Hoffman has been a proud member of the Citizens Fire Company #2, Mechanicsburg, PA since 1967.
Steve is a Pennsylvania native and lives in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County.
Kristin M. Daniels
Critical Infrastructure Protection Specialist

Kristin Daniels was appointed as the Critical Infrastructure Protection Specialist for Homeland Security on June 16, 2008. In this position, she plans, develops and coordinates Homeland Security and critical infrastructure protection activities across the Commonwealth to establish and maintain a continual dialogue among state agencies, regional task forces, and county and municipal levels of government. In addition, Ms. Daniels serves as the Commonwealth's Protected Criticial Infrastructure Information Officer and primary point of contact for security clearances sponsored and validated by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Daniels served as the Office Manager for the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Catherine Baker Knoll, for over five years.
A Pennsylvania native, Ms. Daniels is a 1992 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. She is currently enrolled in a master's program at Penn State University. She resides in Harrisburg with her husband and two children.
