Everyone has plans and goals for the future. Buying a home, starting a family, paying for post-high school education, and retiring are important life events.  Your goals are the key reasons to continually build a financial nest egg for yourself.  Learn the basics of investing in this session, whether you want to start investing or would just like a refresher on the basic topics.  See how risk is a normal part of investing, how stock market fluctuations are normal, and how you can understand the different types of investment offerings from stocks, to mutual funds, to exchange traded funds (ETFs). Hear a general overview of employer sponsored and personal retirement plans, such as pensions, 401k plans, and Individual Retirement Accounts. Also hear a brief overview of financial and investment products available exclusively to the military.   Increasing your knowledge of basic investing topics can help increase the size of your financial nest egg.

Estate Planning is concerned with the transfer of property during life or after death, the methods of effecting those transfers, and the risks associated with transferring property. This workshop will focus on the “gateway issues” of estate planning,  covering the basic concepts that are important for everyone to understand. We will provide an overview of wills, powers of attorney, beneficiary designations, life insurance, end of life instructions, the titling of property and the use of basic trust arrangements to protect your loved ones.
