The Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of Laboratories (BOL) offers limited testing for Giardia and Cryptosporidium by ELISA.  See the Stool Pathogens Detection page for more information.

Assistance in parasitology confirmation on stained slides is offered through the:

Stained slides can be mailed to the BOL or electronic images can be sent directly to the CDC at
dpdx@cdc.gov. 

Include travel history and a specimen submission form when sending slides to the BOL.

The BOL refers specimens to the CDC for parasitology testing.  Visit the CDC Dpdx website at the link above for a complete listing of parasitology testing.  Include the appropriate form below when submitting specimens for parasitology testing.
