Cropland

Historically, field crops were more varied than in contemporary Pennsylvania agriculture, and fields were generally smaller. Corn, wheat, oats, barley, rye, hay, potatoes, cannery crops, and buckwheat were historically common. Today most Pennsylvania fields are planted with corn, hay and soybeans.
