The Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Bureau of Library Development, Division of Subsidies and Grants provides financial assistance to strengthen library services in the Commonwealth. These funding programs include the State Aid to Public Libraries Program, the Library Services and Technology Act Grant Program, and the Keystone Recreation, Park, and Conservation Act Library Facilities Grant Program.
State Aid to Public Libraries
Public libraries that meet eligibility requirements can obtain State Aid to support their general operating budgets and to leverage local financial support, particularly local government funding.
Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)
Academic, school, public and special libraries that meet eligibility requirements can apply through a competitive grant process for federal Library Services and Technology Act funds to support a special project.
Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund Library
Municipalities can apply on behalf of eligible public libraries for Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Act Library Facilities grant funds to construct new library buildings, renovate or rehabilitate existing facilities and make buildings accessible for persons with disabilities.
