About Lieutenant Governor's Residence
Email Article Print Article

The Lieutenant Governor’s home was constructed on a hill, with rolling lawns, from timbers, stone and other materials from two old stone houses that were on the firing range of the reservation.  It was expanded during the Duff Administration, with the addition of a library and a larger kitchen.

Although several alterations have made to the home since it was built, the original structure remains basically unchanged.  The landscape exhibits elements of the 19th Century Victorian “picturesque” gardening movement.  The grounds are populated with a variety of native trees and shrubs.
