Instructions for updates to the Manual

The County Records Committee met on September 26, 2012 to approve revisions and additions to the County Records Manual. A new schedule has been added for Agriculture Preservation Records and the schedule for Data Processing has been replaced by the schedule for Information Technology. In addition there were revisions to the schedules for Administrative and Legal Records, Election, Voter Registration, Emergency Management, Payroll, Personnel, Planning and Zoning, Clerk of Courts and Prothonotary.

If you are maintaining the Manual in electronic form, download the updated manual (PDF) and delete the old file.

 NOTE to Security Microfilm Program participants:  July 1, 2014 the one time fee of $2.00 a roll will increase to $2.50.



The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, through its Bureau of Archives and History, is responsible for providing archival and records management services to county and municipal governments, school districts, and the state judicial system. These services are designed to promote the proper care, administration and preservation of local government and state judicial system records in accordance with the County and Municipal Records acts and the Administrative, History, Judicial and Public School Codes.
