PA Human Relations Commission Events

PHRC sponsors and organizes a wide range of events aimed at raising public awareness of civil rights issues.  Examples include events designed to address problems stemming from discrimination, such as the achievement gap between white and minority students; or events designed to help communities foster diversity and avoid discrimination and civil tension.

PHRC holds monthly public meetings of commissioners and senior staff.  The public is invited to address commissioners regarding illegal discrimination, bias and civil tension in their communities.  Scheduled meetings are listed at the link below.  Please call 717-787-4410 the week prior to the meeting to obtain an agenda.

Seven PHRC Advisory Councils meet regularly, with similar goals and with the aim of extending the commission’s ability to reach local communities.  Various councils hold civil rights awards programs and forums on legislative, educational and employment issues in civil rights, both to educate the public and form strategies to address problems at the local level.

Scheduled meetings are listed at the link below.  If you would like more information on a specific advisory council, or would like to form one in your area, please contact the PHRC Regional Office  serving your county.
