Spina Bifida Program  

Service Description:

The Pennsylvania Department of Health provides some funding to support medical center staff who provide comprehensive medical services to children and adults with Spina Bifida. In addition, the Department provides prescription services to children and adults with Spina Bifida.  

Age Eligibility:

Any individual diagnosed with Spina Bifida.          

Criteria for Eligibility:

To be eligible for prescription services, you must meet all of the following criteria:  U.S. citizenship, Pennsylvania residency, medical confirmation of Spina Bifida, lack of monetary resources or health insurance (including Medical Assistance and Children’s Health Insurance Program).  Depending on income, some families may be required to contribute to the cost of their prescriptions. If the eligible individual has prescription coverage, it must be used first.
