Poverty Level in My Community

To find information about a community’s poverty level go to the Map and click on your county.  This will take you to a list of the Zip Codes and Post Office areas where 10% or more of the children under 5 years-old are in poverty.  These Zip Code areas overlap with a school district that has less than the 30 % poverty rate needed for priority 1.  This would put an applicant drawing enrollment from that area in priority 2.  There is a significant number of children in poverty within these Zip Code areas even though less than 30 % of the corresponding school district’s students are poor.

Only those Zip Code areas with at least a 10 % poverty level are listed.  However, providers in other Zip Codes may apply for a Pre-K Counts grant if they meet the standards for the program.
