Individual Assistance Page
Local, county, state and federal teams are conducting joint Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDA) as conditions allow. PDA teams will be looking at damages for
Public Assistance (PA) which applies primarily to infrastructure damages for local, county and state governments and certain non-profits. PDA teams will also look at damages for Individual Assistance (IA), which is made up of a number of federal programs designed to help citizens and businesses get back on their feet. Those individuals who have flood insurance should first contact their insurance companies to find out the extent of coverage.
Individual Assistance For applicants who qualify, individual assistance can include:
- Individual and Household Programs through the Department of Public Welfare
- Crisis Counseling
- Disaster Unemployment
- Emergency Food Stamps
- Farm Related Disaster Loans
- Disaster Legal Services
- Small Business Administration Disaster Loans
If you sustained losses or damage and the county in which you live or work is included in an Individual Assistance disaster declaration, you may be eligible for disaster aid. For more information call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or visit
www.disasterassistance.gov. When calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), you will first go through an automated process and eventually will be connected to a calltaker. When you apply for disaster assistance, please have the following available:
- Social Security Number (including spouse)
- Private insurance information, if available
- Address and zip code of the damaged property
- Directions to the damaged home or property
- Daytime telephone number and current mailing address
