Promulgating Regulations for Act 38 is No Easy Task

On July 4, 2008, Governor Rendell signed into law Act 38 of 2008, significantly amending the Physical Therapy Practice Act (PTPA).  Act 38 also requires the board to promulgate regulations to implement the changes to the practice act. 

The draft regulations must address many changes in the PTPA, including continuing education for all physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, and supervision of physical therapist assistants.  The amendments have raised numerous questions about the legal requirements applicable to professional practices of physical therapists and assistants that are not clearly addressed in the PTPA.

Tax Amnesty Coming April 26 to June 18
to Settle Delinquent Taxes

Pennsylvania will be offering a Tax Amnesty period from April 26 to June 18.  During this limited, 54-day timeframe, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue will waive 100 percent of penalties and half of the interest for anyone who pays delinquent state taxes. 

The program is generally available to all individuals, businesses and other entities with Pennsylvania tax delinquencies as of June 30, 2009.
