The Press Office is responsible for responding to news media requests for information about department policies, procedures, programs, employees and the inmates it incarcerates.
Each facility has a public information officer. Reporters who have questions regarding a specific facility are encouraged to contact the appropriate facility PIO directly (see "Public Information Officers" link at left).
Reporters needing to contact the DOC Press Office after 5 p.m. weekdays or on weekends may call 717-773-7312.

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections does NOT permit on-camera interviews with specific inmates or access that in any way would allow a specific inmate to be identifiable -- no faces may be filmed, no last names may be used at any time.
No recording devices are permitted in our visiting rooms.
Even if a reporter is covering an official DOC program involving inmates, at no time will inmate faces be filmed or last names be used.
