The Bureau of Postsecondary & Adult Education processes requests from out-of-state degree-granting institutions seeking authorization by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to offer courses or degree programs via distance education to Pennsylvania residents
The Early Intervention Program in Pennsylvania provides services and supports designed to help families with children with developmental delays.
Early Warning System (EWS)
Based on Johns Hopkins research on dropout prevention by Dr. Robert Balfanz, the Early Warning System uses Attendance, Behavior and Course Grades (ABC's). The EWS identifies students in middle school, before they dropout.
The Division of Federal Programs administers federal programs and funding to over 570 local education agencies, non-public and charter schools.
Food & Nutrition Services
The Division of Food and Nutrition promotes access to healthy food choices among the Commonwealth's children to ensure readiness to learn, wellness, and sponsor compliance with federal Child Nutrition Program standards.
Provides commitment/support to gifted students designated as “children with exceptionalities” and therefore in need of specially designed instruction.
