Sarah Jane Olson aka Kathleen Soliah, was initially denied entry into the Symbionese Liberation Army, a radical leftist domestic terrorist group of the early 1970’s, because it was believed that she was a security risk. A continuing supporter, she was finally recruited to help hide Patty Hearst after the shootout in 1974 where many of the original SLA members were killed. After the arrest of Patty Hearst in 1975, Kathleen Soliah went underground. She surfaced 24 years later as a wife and mother in St. Paul, Minnesota. Arrested at a routine traffic stop in 1999, she pled guilty to attempted bombings charges from the mid 1970’s and received a 14-year sentence. She still faces first degree murder charges in the shotgun slaying of a bank customer in 1975.
